Cybersecurity Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments and audits to evaluate clients’ security posture and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Design and implement security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on security best practices, standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
  • Perform security testing, including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and threat modeling.
  • Analyze security incidents and breaches, and provide incident response and remediation assistance.
  • Conduct security awareness training and education sessions for clients’ employees to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with clients’ IT teams, management, and stakeholders to address cybersecurity challenges and implement solutions.
  • Prepare and present reports, findings, and recommendations to clients’ executives and management.

Educational Qualification and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 4+years of experience in cybersecurity consulting or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Experience conducting cybersecurity assessments, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of security technologies and tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption.
  • Familiarity with networking, operating systems, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
