EDM Mark IT Developer

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Markit EDM Developer / Analyst to join our Market Data Group. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing and supporting the Markit EDM platform along with strong SQL Server and reporting skills (SSRS or Power BI). The role involves development, support, and configuration of EDM applications, along with generating analytical reports based on EDM data. Strong analytical skills are needed to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a functional specialist for Markit EDM, supporting both technical and business analyst teams.
• Implement new and enhance existing EDM configurations based on business requirements.
• Provide daily support for the Markit EDM application including user administration, configuration changes, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain SQL Server applications, including stored procedures, triggers, and jobs.
• Assist in generation and customization of reports using SSRS or Power BI.
• Work closely with the Market Data team to ensure smooth integration with reference data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
• Help expand the documentation library by documenting system procedures, configurations, and workflows.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and coordinate problem resolution with internal teams.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, and distribution processes using EDM.

Required Technical Skills:

• Minimum 6 years of overall IT experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Markit EDM implementation and support (mandatory).
• Strong programming skills in T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Triggers.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server development and performance tuning.
• Experience in SSRS or Power BI for report development (mandatory).
• Knowledge of working with market/reference data such as Bloomberg or Reuters (a plus).
• Familiarity with XML, SQL Server on Windows/UNIX environments (Unix experience is a bonus but NOT required).
• Exposure to data integration technologies like MQ, XML, TIBCO, or general scripting is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle is a plus.
